Cheat Lake

The Cheat Lake area is located northeast of Morgantown, West Virginia in Monongalia County. Easy access to I-68 and 119.

Downtown

Downtown Morgantown is the historic center of town and adjacent to West Virginia University’s main campus.

Evansdale

The Evansdale area is north of downtown on the hill overlooking downtown and the Monongahela River. West Virginia University’s Evansdale Campus and Law School occupy a large portion of this area.

First Ward

First Ward is a residential neighborhood south of Downtown. The homes are primarily smaller, post-WWII single family structures. The neighborhood features two large parks Jack Roberts and White Park.

Greenmont

Greenmont is the oldest neighborhood in Morgantown with a mix of new and long-term residents. Close to Downtown, it also features easy access to the Rail Trail and neighborhood establishments.

North Hills

North Hills is a residential neighborhood between 705 and West Run.  Convenient access to WVU Hospitals, Health Sciences, Mountaineer Field, Mon General, Suncrest Towne Center.

Sabraton

This neighborhood connects Morgantown to I-68, Rt. 7 and points east. Easy access to shopping, Marilla Park, and the Rail Trail.

South Hills

This residential neighborhood of primarily single-family homes occupies the hills between Greenmont and Sabraton. This neighborhood is close to Marilla Park and the Rail Trail.

South Park

The South Park neighborhood is close to Downtown a short walk across the Pleasant Street Bridge. This area features many stately Victorian-era homes and tree-lined streets.

Star City

This small city is north of Morgantown on the banks of the Monongahela. Easy access to the WVU Creative Arts Center, Coliseum, Hospitals, I-79, and University Town Center.

Suncrest

This residential neighborhood lies between Evansdale and Star City. Easy access to WVU’s Evansdale Campus, the Creative Arts Center, Coliseum, Hospitals, I-79, Suncrest Towne Center, and University Town Center.

Sunnyside

This former working-class neighborhood occupies the hillside between WVU’s Downtown Campus and Evansdale.

Westover

The City of Westover is located on the western bank of the Monongahela River from Morgantown. Easy access to I-79, Morgantown Mall, shopping at University Town Center and West Ridge.

Wiles Hill/Highland Park

These small residential neighborhoods are on the hill above Sunnyside, between the Downtown Campus and Evansdale, and Suncrest. Easy access to Suncrest Towne Center, WVU Hospitals, Mon General, and 705.

Woodburn

This residential neighborhood is walking distance northeast of Downtown and close to campus. Easy access to the Mileground and Sabraton. The neighborhood also features two parks and is close to the Rail Trail.
